Bangs For Medium Length Hair

Hot Bangs with That Medium Length Style

Choosing the right bang to go with your medium length style is tough. There are so many types of bangs to choose from that it’s hard to know what to do. Straight, parted, choppy, side swept, wispy, blunt, wavy… where do you start?

Straight Bangs: They can be straight across the whole forehead or rounded on the outside edges. This type of bang is used a lot to cover a larger forehead, but you don’t have to have a five-finger forehead to pull them off. You can have them cut above the brow, on the brow, or even below the brow just touching the top eyelid. Pros of this style of bang? They are hot in Hollywood, so you can get the celeb look easily without adding any other changes. Cons of this style are that if you decide you don’t like them, they take a bit to grow out and you have to deal with the awkward stage before you can do something else with them.

Parted: Parting the bangs is just another way to style them. Doesn’t matter if they are straight, choppy, side swept, wispy or blunt, you can part any of them to get a slightly different look out of your bangs. It’s fun to mix it up a bit sometimes, so adding in the part can take away the severity of the straight blunt bangs, or change the way the side swept bangs frame your face. There aren’t really pros and cons to this one. It’s just another option for you in your quest to have hottie hair. It’s the same with wavy bangs. It’s more of a style option than anything.

Choppy: This look is something you will find in more contemporary haircuts and is more appealing if you want to spend time putting product in your hair to enhance this type of bang. Choppiness is a fun flirty way to enhance your haircut, but once they are in, it takes a while for them to grow out if you get bored with them. Pro for this type of bang? It’s definitely an indicator for people wanting to know your personality type! If you are sporting this look in your ‘do, you are probably spunky, outgoing and dance to your own beat. Con? The grow out takes a bit longer than a more conservative bang.

Side Swept: These are the more romantic looking bangs and you see them most often on girls with long hair. That’s not to say they don’t look fantastic with the medium styles, though! What effect they have on the face is to soften the appearance of the face. They draw attention from your forehead to down around your face in a sweeping motion so the person looking at you looks at all of your face instead of just one spot. It’s cool that having your hair styled this way can affect the way people look at you! Pros? Softness. Definitely softness. If you want that dreamy look, this is a really fast way to get it. They also look amazing straight, wavy or curly, so you can’t go wrong. Cons? Personally, I don’t think there are any cons to this type of bang. They grow out well. If you are less conservative and want something edgy then this is not the bang for you.

Wispy:

Like the side swept bangs, these are dreamy and romantic. They are great for sassy cuts, too! You can piece out the ends to make them spiky or just leave them soft. Either way, these are great for softening up the face and adding a quiet drama to your style. Pros of wispy bangs? They look beautiful on almost everyone and for most styles and they are versatile. Cons? If you have super fine hair, wispy bangs have a tendency to look like damaged hair and more unintentional than you hoped for.

Blunt:

Blunt cut bangs are not for chickens! They look great on a lot of face shapes, but they are very dramatic and severe so not for the faint-of-heart. If you want to draw attention to your face, this is the way to go. That’s a pro or a con depending on your personality!

Hopefully this gives you some insight for deciding what to do with your bangs next time you go in for a new style.
